NC Coast Outlook

Surf Seaweed Forecast

Real-time NOAA buoy observations along the North Carolina coast, turned into a seaweed (Sargassum) risk index using onshore wind, wave height, water temperature, and gusts.

Sargassum levels remain low across all North Carolina beaches today and tomorrow, with no seaweed accumulations reported by the community despite varied water temperatures and wave heights reaching up to 26 inches. While moderate onshore winds persist across the coast, the current season and ocean conditions are keeping beach shorelines largely clear of floating seaweed.
